The LECOM Suncoast Classic Championship
This incredible tournament will take place at the Lakewood National Golf Club, considered one of the top Siesta Key golf courses. Siesta key golf would not be the same without a place like this one. The tournament here will take place as part of the one and only Korn Ferry Tour. And it’ll happen from February 17 – February 20, 2022, if all goes according to plan. And the plans are already in motion; sponsors, players, promoters, and all else seem to be going along right on schedule. Make your plans today to go out and see it! The Bay Hill Championship
The Arnold Palmer Invitational invites you to its upcoming, legendary “winner take all” golf tournament, happening March 1-6, 2022. For this one, there can only be one champion, who takes home $9.5 million as well as their very own TOUR exemption, good for three full years. Check out The Golf Channel and NBC for your local times and listings if you want to watch the replay from live TV.
This will all be played across the Bay Hill Championship Course, no less, an extensive players’ arena that spans almost 300 acres and 30 holes. It spans many sub-shores, mostly engulfing the one and only Butler Chain of Lakes. Dick Wilson was the original mastermind behind this golf course and its sole originator. And just a bit later, Arnold Palmer came along and did his own redesign of the whole thing to make it more modern and elegant than it’s ever been before. And yes, his redesign still stands, with a few occasional tweaks here and there.
The Valspar Championship
The Valspar Championship is slated to take place from March 14 – 20, 2022. And it’s sponsored by a great range of companies, such as not only Valspar but also the likes of others like Purdy Professional Painting Tools, Miniwax, Krylon, Michelob Ultra, Lexus, and St. Pete Clearwater. A wide number of charity organizations also intend to cover the event and offer their support and resources in any way that they can. Plenty of news and media coverage is expected as well. The Players Championship
This amazing championship is one of the most well-known here in this area. It planted its roots back in 1974 and has been going stronger and stronger every year since. It’s on a roll, and the next one plans to be dynamite, too! This event and all its excitement will be taking place right at the one and only TPC Sawgrass, and get this: this particular championship title has been remarkably noted as one of the “most coveted” by the PGA Tour in all. So yes, it’s a big deal that you do not want to miss!
Make plans to be there in that area from March 11 – 14, 2022! It’ll be worth your while, whether you live and breathe golf or just consider yourself to be a casual fan. And did you know that the entire course now spans a full 7,245 yards, all in all? There are a host of blue tees, white tees, green tees, and heck, even blended tees. And they all intend to be used for this event; people seem more eager than ever to fill up those seats, as well. Book as early as you can to make sure that you have a spot!
The World Golf Championship
They call this one, officially, The WGC-Workday Championship. It encompasses a bit of the PGA Tour and the European Tour, blending the very best of both those worlds. You won’t want to miss this one! The WGC series, all in all, holds four big events, and this one has notably been labeled as the very first one of those four. So, it’s off to a strong start already, by the looks of its marketing and media promotions thus far. It’s no small deal altogether for major golf tournaments taking place in and around the Siesta Key area.
It’s set to take place in February 2022 across four days, more than likely, as the others mentioned have been as well. The exact timing and dates are still to be fully released, so keep an eye on the news for that. Don’t forget to check social media often, in addition to searching the internet for “WGC Workday Championship 2022” from time to time to get updates. Bradenton is where it’s set to take place, as of now, in its one and only Concession Golf Club. There’s plenty of parking nearby, so everyone can come out to this incredible event.
