Things To Do in Siesta Key with Toddlers

Want to make your Siesta Key vacation experience relaxing while still keeping your toddlers entertained? You can look forward to your beach trip knowing that there are plenty of things you can do when you have a toddler (or two) in tow.

You might find that there are multiple Siesta Key Florida hotels to choose from, but the Tropical Breeze Resort offers amenities and luxuries specifically for families with toddlers. We make sure you have amazing things to do and sights to see whether you are 5 or 85.

Go to the Beach

The beach makes its own fun. Siesta Key has some dazzling and often quiet beach sides, and all are warm and welcoming for families.

The beach is filled with possible family-friendly activities and things to do. You don’t need to be especially inventive to fill the day with fun. You can have a shell-seeking competition, build a sand castle, get some beach gear at a local shop, and so on. The sand on Siesta Key is world-famous and known for its cool touch and silky-smooth texture.

The beach allows for so many different ways to play, or you can take your kids to Siesta Key Public Beach Park where there are food options and a well-maintained playground.

There are also some fun things to do right up by the beach. Smugglers Cove Adventure is the top minigolf spot on the island if your kids have tons of energy left. Or hop on board the free Trolley that takes you all around the island making several stops along the way.

Visit the Village

While Siesta Key is a safe island and great for families looking for a low-key beach destination, the Village is a very popular area. Cars drive slowly through this area, but there are many visitors who will ride bikes, so keep an eye on your toddler.

The Village is the main shopping district of Siesta Key. It features a welcoming mix of mainstream stores and local boutiques, featuring dresses, beach apparel, toys, and souvenir. You spots to see include the Swim Shack, the Siesta Market, Life Works, and For the Birds.

The Village of Siesta Key has some fabulous family-friendly restaurants, but there are excellent places to take the crew all over the island.

Go on Day Trips

Siesta Key is lovely, but you can also get off the key for a bit and see the other nearby sights and their attractions. We highly recommend a romp on over to Lido Key where you’ll find St. Armand’s Circle is a blast of peculiar boutiques and dessert shops. On the northern point of Lido Key is perhaps the area’s most appealing and epic family-friendly attraction. The Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium is a sight to behold, with sharks, stingrays, and 100 other species to see.

You can also head on over to Sarasota. It is the largest city in the area, but it is still markedly smaller than Tampa or Orlando. You get a nice taste of Florida coast side living right off the island, and you can see some top attractions, like the incredibly popular Sarasota Jungle Gardens. If you have been wondering where the flamingos were, you’ll find them here!

We also have to recommend the IMAX 3D Theatre in Sarasota, especially for a rainy day.

Resort Activities

We make sure to give you plenty of options to accommodate a toddler in our Siesta Key beach hotels. You can choose to play at the pools, including a courtyard pool, waterfall, or secondary pool option.

If your tot is up for the adventure, you can take advantage of your free 2-hour bike rentals and soar along Siesta Key. If you need additional things to make baby comfortable, we work with local partners around the area to provide additional services. Check out our Adventure Tiki page to learn more.

Finally, we have ideal accommodations for anyone traveling with a baby. Many of our 1 bedroom hotel rooms are large enough for a small family. You can rent any and all baby essentials to ease your frustrations.

If you ever run short of possible things to do at the resort, just look around the resort. There are so many things to engage all ages. You can swim one of two heated pools, stop by the market, or, of course, walk right on over to the beach. There are not many Siesta Key resorts, and ours is truly the best on the island! We make sure every child and adult has the best vacation experience possible.
