Best of both worlds

We had a couple of items on our list in selecting a place to stay in Siesta Key. It had to have a heated pool or hot tub. It had to be within walking distance of something to do in the evenings. And it had to be near the beach. This property checked all of the boxes. It’s a well run property that’s part of a larger company which owns several nearby properties. We loved being able to walk in and out of our place without having to haul things through elevators, stairs, and hallways like you would in the high rise condos. We were able to park a few feet from our door. The apartment was the perfect size for us and the kitchen allowed us to reheat some leftovers and have some drinks when we wanted to. We were just one block away from the village where all of the action is and we walked there every evening. The beach was just down the end of our road and we walked there every morning and a couple of nights to catch the sunset. The heated pool felt great even though it was pretty warm out for December still. I only have 3 complaints: The temperature was locked at 72 which was warm for us Ohioans. That was resolved with a quick visit to the office. The beach chairs that came with the room were free but were huge. We only used them once since it was awkward to carry them down the street. Finally, the hot tub was unavailable after dusk (5:30pm). The best time to use a hot tub is in the cooler evenings. I was really disappointed in that policy. The staff explained that it’s due to safety policies in the area that apply to all pool areas but that they were looking into what they could do to change that. Maybe if they fenced off the hot tub from the pool or put a little fence or seating around it to prevent accidents? Hopefully they can fix it. It was a shame we never got to use it. Other than those few things, it was a great experience and we would gladly stay there again. (VRBO guest)
